About Us

Golden Gate Weavers Guild is the oldest weaving guild in Northern California. Due to the Covid19 pandemic, we are meeting virtually via Zoom on the third Monday of the month. The Guild does not meet in July, August, or December. If you would like to attend one of our virtual meetings or join our Guild, you can contact us at info@goldengateweavers.org.  Everyone is welcome!

In 1941, with a membership of 38, an exhibit was given at the Claremont Hotel. It featured six furnished rooms: a colonial and a modern living room, a dining room and a bedroom. All the textiles were handwoven. Three hundred dollars was made and donated to the  British War Relief....learn more

Service Project 2022

I

Many thanks to weavers from both Loom&Shuttle and Golden Gate Weavers:  Sheila, Carol, Susie, Karen, Koko, Anne Maris, Mai, Nancy, Nari and Deborah Chiarucci.  Fifty-five beautiful items were handmade and included dish towels, pot holders, coasters and scarves.

Nancy and I collected items, and Deborah and I tagged and organized the items.  Deborah and I had the best job - we got to admire and touch each beautiful item.  Each tag says, "Happy Holidays!  A handmade gift from the Golden Gate and Loom & Shuttle weaving guilds."

Big thanks to all involved in this year's Service Project.  We'll do this again next year.  During the coming year, if you have an extra item or two, think about storing it away for our group project.  :)
